04/26/10 - Wastegate plumbing/driveshaft vibration
I had planned on doing this BEFORE tuning, but the banjo fittings
didn't arrive until yesterday, so I replaced the silicone lines with
teflon ones... Much cleaner and I don't need to worry about them
drooping onto the hot exhaust manifold... (I really need to aquire
these fittings in BLACK, tho)
I was noticing some high speed vibration in the car... so I got
underneath and checked it out. One of the driveshaft bolts was
5mm longer than the others (must have grabbed a wrong one in my haste
to put it on).... I changed it to a matching one... HOLY CRAP.
Feels like a whole new car... Not only is the car smoother
at 110+, but it's sooo much smoother across the entire speed range...
It made a HUGE HUGE difference... changed the car from scary and
uncomfortable to just scary... That's a good thing. I'm in
love with my car.
